I’m new to Christian things … where should I start?

1. Join us any Sunday

This is a great way of hearing the message of the Christian faith and of seeing Christians in action.
You can do this in person at Newhall Street where our services are informal and easy to access.
We sing (you don’t have to!), we pray (you won’t be asked to!), we listen to a talk from the bible and we spend time chatting over a cup of tea or coffee (often cake too). And we’re interested in you and not what we can get out of you (so you won’t be asked for your money!).
But if the idea of coming along on a Sunday is  too much for you just now - and we get that - one way to put your toe in the water before taking the plunge is to drop into our YouTube Channel where you can find our live-streamed services.

2. Read the Bible
on your own

Why not read Mark’s account of the life of Jesus (called a gospel)?
You can do this for free by downloading a Bible app. We suggest you search for the YouVersion app in the Apple Store or Google Play store. Then download the ‘NIV Anglicised translation’ and search for Mark. You can also listen to actor David Suchet, himself a Christian, read the text out.

3. Read the Bible
with someone else

Sometimes it's easier to read the Bible with someone else, and we'd love to do this with you.
Drop us an email at gcctipton@gmail.com and we'll be in touch to arrange something.
From time to time we run Christianity Explored course. This is a great way of reading Mark’s account of Jesus’ life and exploring the truth and reality of the Christian faith. It can be done one-to-one or in a small group. Whichever works best for you.

4. Talk to someone

If you'd like to talk to someone, why not get in touch? We'd love to chat - over the phone or in person.
Email us gcctipton@gmail.com or call us (0121 502 0618). We’ll get right back to you as soon as we can.

5. Pray

Prayer is simply us speaking to God. Anyone can pray. You can pray.
Here’s one suggestion of a simple way to speak to God and ask His help for the next steps:

God,
if you are there, you’ve made me
and you already know me.
I want to get to know you.
Please speak to me.
Please help me to listen and please lead me to yourself.
